QUESTION: THE WASHINGTON POST REPORTED THAT "THE PERCENTAGE OF AMERICANS WHO CALL THEMSELVES CHRISTIANS HAS DROPPED DRAMATICALLY OVER THE PAST TWO DECADES, AND THOSE WHO DO, ARE INCREASINGLY IDENTIFYING THEMSELVES WITHOUT TRADITIONAL DENOMINATION LABELS." THESE FINDINGS ARE BASED ON A RECENT SURVEY OF MORE THAN 54,000 PEOPLE. HOW DOES HIGHER GUIDANCE SEE THIS TREND?
(See the March 9, 2009 "WASHINGTON POST" news article link below)
ANSWER: Dear Ones, there is a trend to look to the self to know what shall be truth. And in this, to believe to identify with one's self, and subsequent wisdom, is a goodness.
With the faith in one's self, that there can be understanding, the searching for one's own belief system is much easier.
Being able to go from one place to another, searching for truth, is simpler than "living within a label". So, those who search for God, Faith, and Hope, are moving more and more, into "self searching". Thus, there is less need of labels that may restrict this searching.
There are many more in these days, than ordinarily, who seek to know the truth, not just what another believes to be true.
Look to a future where man is one to seek, not a church to teach him of God, but very "wise women and men". These will have proven their faith by their own manifestations through their beliefs. Their truths, and the operation of God Presence, will be evidenced by their own lives.
These will be the religious leaders of tomorrow. Labels will not be necessary.
