QUESTION: THE COMEDIAN GEORGE CARLIN RECENTLY DIED OF A HEART ATTACH AT AGE 71. HE WAS FAMOUS FOR HIS EDGY SOCIAL COMMENTARY, AND WAS THE SUBJECT OF A U.S. SUPREME COURT DECISION OVER HIS USE OF FOUL LANGUAGE IN COMEDY ROUTINES. HE HAD AN UNCANNY ABILITY TO SEE THROUGH THE CONTRADICTORY ASPECTS OF OUR SOCIETY AND WAS A STAUNCH DEFENDER OF FREE SPEECH. HOW DOES HIGHER GUIDANCE SEE MR. CARLIN'S LIFE?

ANSWER: George Carlin was a man without boundaries when it came to speaking his mind and heart. He was one to hate ambiguous statements, that could cause one to seek answers and instead, end in confusion.
Carlin felt the best thing that could happen to anyone was to "BECOME WISE". And how could this happen if truth was always obscured?
Therefore, he was in favor of making language fit the truth. He did not believe that language as a form of communication must serve understanding.
Mr. Carlin was one to take chances, that others did not. He did so with his voice, his career, his popularity and whatever else, was his to risk.
He could care less what others thought of him personally. And if he told the truth, and others did not like it, he walked away from the censure without a backward glance.
There were many who saw him as a "gross human being". Others saw him as "wise beyond his time".
In the future, the young will seek him out as a prophet and a philosopher. They will study him and his words looking for truth that is not easily found. And they will be right to do so! No one, of George Carlin's time, will last, as an historical hero of his times, as will he. He told the truth and this will be honored. Time will treat him well, even though his own times, will have seen him as a man to have "gone too far"!
