SWINE FLU

Obama Acts to Ease Flu Fears; U.S. Says It Is Prepared

QUESTION:
There is currently a curious virus making its way around the world that has the makings of a pandemic. News reports are saying that the virus appears to be a combination of human flu, bird flu, and swine flu. It doesn't sound like something that nature would ordinarily produce. What does Higher Guidance say about this virus, and how can people protect themselves against it?

(See The New York Times article on April 27, 2009 below.)

ANSWER:
CHILDREN, there lies within this situation many things to understand. In the first place, there are always virus' in the atmosphere around you. When a virus is identified, and can be tracked, it is considered an epidemic.

Every year there are virtually millions of virus' that are floating in the air, just waiting to catch the unsuspecting. These virus' are really a way to clean up the environment when it is not healthy. Healthy "hosts" very seldom succumb to virus' when in this natural state.

In this particular virus of today's concern, there is a difference. It is one spliced into a commonality of one unit. In this, when one begins to heal from one form of the virus, the next, and then the next virus begins to affect the "host" with it's own cycle. Usually, a virus runs it's course, and if the host is healthy, the cycle of infection stops. In this spliced virus, with three species, the cycles come in turn. The most potent virus first, then the next, and the next runs it's course. This is why the illness can be of a longer, more viral nature.

This current virus is not a natural virus. It is a splicing of a virus with the intention of seeing what would happen if such were to occur in nature. Those who were doing this experimentation paid little heed to the cleanliness required to isolate their experimentation. So, it was carried out of the laboratory by one of the workers, who then began to show symptoms. Before there could be containment, the virus had jumped to another person who had been exposed. So, the virus was then on its' way to the current situation we now see.

The "Swine Flu Spliced Virus" is serious for the elderly and children who are very young, or have poor health conditions. A population who is well fed, nutritionally, and practices good health, are not likely to succumb to this virus.

In the 1970's, the swine flu was experienced in the USA population. There was a lot of fear when it was discovered to be making its' rounds. But, as it turned out, it had very little effect on the population as a whole. Today, the antibodies are still in the population and become a deterrent to the virus for many.

The most important thing to know regarding this issue is to take common sense actions, not to spread the virus, if you are one to contact it.

Stay at home and treat the virus as you would any other virus. Drink plenty of liquids, stay in bed and rest to assist the immune system to knock out the virus. Eat light foods, such as soups, juices, etc. until the virus has run its' course. And if you are feeling really poorly, call your doctor, and ask what to do by your symptoms. Do not infect others by sitting in a waiting room with other patients.

If the infection of the virus is in your area, isolate yourself and your family for a week or so. This caution can pay off well. There is no reason to go into the public and expose even one member of your family if you plan a little. You can have extra food and water in your pantry. Stay home, as a family, and entertain one another with games, movies, books and good conversation! Do not accept guests into your house. You can enjoy a week's rest without being sick!

ARTICLE:

WASHINGTON - The Obama administration dispatched high-level officials from
several agencies Monday to allay concerns about swine flu and to demonstrate that it was fully prepared to confront the outbreak even as the president said here was "not a cause for alarm." Janet Napolitano, the secretary of homeland security, and Dr. Richard E. Besser, the acting director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said the administration was prepared to respond to any further spread of the swine flu virus. Homeland security officials said they expected the outbreak to spread. "We are proceeding as if we are preparatory to a full pandemic level," Ms. Napolitano said.

CITIGROUP
After Year of Heavy Losses, Citigroup Finds a Profit

QUESTION:
Citigroup claimed that it made a profit in the first quarter of 2009, but they used "creative accounting" to get these results. What is the prognosis for Citigroup and the American banking industry?

(See The New York Times article on April 18, 2009 below. )

ANSWER:
Dear Ones, there is a new horizon in the banking industry. It is that when they are ones to spend too much money on themselves and the "good life," they too run out of money!

It has never really occurred to the banking industry, especially those who have had international connections, that they would ever run out.

A truth is, that they have simply not watched the bottom line. Money arriving into a business, must cover the costs, etc! This rule just cannot be ignored!

The banking industry is one that has enjoyed "money flow" in such excess that the flowing always covers the deficit. But what happens when everyone is doing this? Who puts money into circulation to cover the spending habits of mindless escalation?

This is called the "floating of money," or in bank terms "kiting". The practice is that the money flowing into the banks is sufficient to cover the debts that are not covered by "real money".

If a banking customer were to do this same practice as the banks, "kiting," he would be in very serious criminal trouble.

Banks practice "kiting" all of the time. It is a very common practice that there is more money out in checks than there is in actual money in the bank. The "float" or money coming into the banks from customers, that show on the bank's, cover the amount of excess checks, until the money is deposited into the customers account. What has happened, currently, is that this practice has caught up with them. Now, they are ones to scramble to cover this "kiting action".

As the economy has less and less money floating for deposits, the coverage for the banks reduce, until they cannot cover the excess check writing (expenses) by this practice.

Internationally, this practice is the same. The difference is that their economy has not "over spent," slowing down deposits. In the not too distant future, European banks will find this condition to be theirs as well. This is just around the corner. And the result will most likely be hyper-inflation for all!

News Article:

After more than a year of crippling losses and three bailouts from Washington, Citigroup, a troubled giant of American banking, said Friday that it had done something extraordinary: it made money. But the headline number - a net profit of $1.6 billion for the first quarter - was not quite what it seemed. Behind that figure was some fuzzy math. Like several other banks that reported surprisingly strong results this week, Citigroup used some creative accounting, all of it legal, to bolster its bottom line at a pivotal moment. While wisps of recovery are appearing in the nation's banking industry - mortgage lending and trading income are up industrywide - many banks are doing all they can to make themselves look good. The timing is crucial. Federal regulators are preparing to disclose the results of
stress tests that could determine which banks are strong enough to return the taxpayer dollars that they have accepted, and which might need more. Many banks are eager to extricate themselves from the strings attached to the government bailout money, including restrictions on pay.

Her performance of the song has been viewed 20.2 million times on YouTube. What accounts for her appeal and her success?

We, the human race, "have lost our dreams". Susan represents to all, who look at her in awe, that dreams can always come true!

THANK YOU SUSAN!!!

News Article:

LONDON - She has been watched by more than 20.2 million people (and counting) on YouTube, Twittered about by Demi and Ashton, praised by Patti LuPone, admired by the bloggerati, snapped by the paparazzi, swarmed by camera crews, interrogated by reporters and restyled, sort of, for American television. But now Susan Boyle, the middle-aged church volunteer whose soaring performance of "I Dreamed a Dream" on a British talent show last week turned her into the world's newest instant celebrity, at youtube.com/watch?v=9lp0IWv8QZY, is trying to catch her breath. "All the attention has been quite an upheaval, and she is quite tired," Miss Boyle's brother, John, told reporters on Thursday outside her tiny pebbledash cottage in tiny, previously unexciting Blackburn, Scotland. "I have taken her away to let her have some peace and quiet before the next round." "The next round" refers, of course, to "Britain's Got Talent," the "X-Factor"-style competition in which the unglamorous, unfashionable Miss Boyle, 47, confounded a multitude of stereotypes by unveiling her gorgeous singing voice last Saturday night. Part of the joy of watching her performance was seeing the obnoxious, smarmy grimaces disappear from the faces of Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan, two of the show's judges, and seeing the audience shift, in an instant, from tittering condescension to open-mouthed admiration.
